• Worksheet – Ch. 1 Teset Prep / Chapter Test
• pg. 61 – do TWO questions from each section (Lesson 1.1, Lesson 1.2, etc.)

FOR THURSDAY, SEPT 29

Section 1.7:  Using Reasoning to Solve Puzzles and Games

We played a variety of games, including Quirkle, Blokus, and Rush Hour as well as some creative building games

Homework:

• if you were not in class, you need to access a game of Blokus (either a board game or an APP on your IPhone or IPod Touch) and play it.  After playing it, you need to answer the questions on the following attachment

Section 1.7:  Using Reasoning to Solve Puzzles and Games

• do the Investigate the Math Activity on pg. 52 in your textbook and answer the questions
• Pick two of the puzzles from the list below and go on the internet and find printable versions of the puzzles.   Work through one puzzle, then fill in the worksheet Analyzing Logical Puzzles Worksheet, and then try the same puzzle again, using some of the strategies you came up with.  Repeat the same procedure with the other type of puzzle.  The puzzles you can choose from are:

                                Ken Ken

                               Hashiwokakero

                                Shikaku
